Add Assignment

1. In the Course page, click the Turn editing on button.

2. Under the Topic that you want to add an Assignment to, click Add an activity or resource.

3. From the Activity / Resource selector, click Assignment.

4. In the General settings, you can set the Assignment name and write the instructions under Description. You can also attach Additional files (e.g. PDF instructions, sample files, etc).

5. In the Availability settings, we can enable a start date and a due date (deadline) for the students to submit their assignment. We can also disable the start and due date, if we want to.

6. Under Submission types, we can indicate the type of output we are expecting from the students. If we select Online text, students will enter their answers in a text box. We can also set a limit to the word count of their answer.

7. If we choose File submissions for the Submission type, we can set the maximum number of files that they can upload, maximum file size, and even limit the accepted file types (e.g. PDF, ZIP, DOC).

8. Under Feedback types, we can set how we want to give feedback - either through comments or files.

9. Under Submission settings, we should require students to click the submit button and accept the submission statement. We can also allow students to re-submit (before deadline), and set a maximum number of submission attempts.

10. Under Grade settings, we can set the maximum grade (perfect score). We can also choose to apply blind marking (students' names will not be displayed when checking).

11. Notifications. We can set notifications once an assignment was submitted.

12. In the Activity completion settings, we can track whether or not the students have completed the assignment by following these settings (check Student must submit to this activity to complete it).

13. Don't forget to click one of the Save buttons.
