Viewing Calendar Events

- The Course page is where teachers add learning materials and activities for their students.

Editing the Course Settings

- The management of the students can be done on any course page. There the teacher can view and edit the enrollment status of each student.

Adding a Course Announcement

- Courses are divided into sections to organize resources and activities for students. Each section can have a description and can contain many activities and resources as the teacher desires.
- A label resource serves as a spacer on a course page. It can be used to add text, images, multimedia or code in between other resources in the different sections. Its main purpose is to improve the appearance of a course.
- A file resource is a way for a teacher to present materials to their students such as word-processed documents or slideshow presentations.
- A URL resource is a link on the internet to a website or online file. Teachers can use this resource to provide their students with web links for research, saving the student time and effort in manually typing out or searching for the address.
- A page resource creates a link to a screen that displays the content created by the teacher. The Text editor allows the page to display many different kinds of content such as plain text, images, audio, video, embedded code or a combination of all these.
- Assignments allow students to submit work to their teacher for grading.
- The Quiz activity allows the teacher to design and build quizzes consisting of a large variety of question types, including multiple choice, true-false, short answer and essays.
- The Forum activity allows students and teachers to exchange ideas by posting comments as part of a discussion.
- The Choice activity allows you to ask a question and set up radio buttons which learners can click to make a selection from a number of possible responses. Choices can be useful as a quick poll to stimulate thinking about a topic; to allow the class to vote on a direction for the course, or to gauge progress.
- The Feedback activity allows you to create and conduct surveys to collect feedback. The teacher can write their own questions, rather than choose from a list of pre-written questions and unlike the Quiz activity, you can create non-graded questions.
- The Glossary activity allows participants to create and maintain a list of definitions, like a dictionary.
- The Wiki activity allows students to create a collaborative document by building pages together, similar to Wikipedia. Unlike other collaborative editing programs (such as Google docs) the Wiki is a standard Moodle activity and so no extra permissions or logins are needed.
- The Workshop is a peer assessment activity. Students add submissions which are then distributed amongst their peers for assessment based on a grading scale specified by the teacher.
